Dear Heather, My heart aches for you.  My 31 year old Bryan shot himself through the heart & lung, Oct. 18, 2004.  I still cannot believe it. My heart aches constantly.  My joy for living is gone, but I just keep pushing for all the people who are left, grieving for Bryan.  He was such a loving, caring, warm hearted person.  You would have never thought he would have done this.  He was having a real hard time after his divorce & being apart from his little girl, but I just never realized he would take his life.  I keep asking myself what more could I have done.  His x-wife told me the day after his death that she still loved him. I told her it was too late, he was gone.  I do know alcohol contributed to his end.  I saw the pictures of KY Lake.  We are only about 30 minutes from there in Mayfield, KY. I too know the heartache of life after losing a loved one to suicide. My beautiful niece took her life three years ago this month at the age of eighteen. I will keep Mark in my heart forever as he and Candice are our angels above.

When I first read this poem I could hear Mark's voice, saying the words to me

Love never disappears for death is a non-event.
I have merely retired to the room next door.

You and I are the same; what we were for each other, we still are.

We are connected,
My child and I, by
An invisible cord
Not seen by the eye.
It's not like the cord
That connects us 'til birth
This cord can't be seen
By any on Earth.
This cord does it's work
Right from the start.
It binds us together
Attached to my heart.
I know that it's there
Though no one can see
The invisible cord
From my child to me.
The strength of this cord
Is hard to describe.
It can't be destroyed
It can't be denied.
It's stronger than any cord
Man could create
It withstands the test
Can hold any weight.
And though you are gone,
Though you're not here with me,
The cord is still there
But no one can see.
It pulls at my heart
